Acts on behalf of importers, exporters or other companies or persons to organize the safe, efficient, smooth and cost-effective moving of goods/ shipments.

Position Type: Full-time

Hiring Manager /Immediate Supervisor: Operations Manager

Duties & Responsibilities:

1.      Operational duties to include coordination with shippers, truckers, steamship lines and offices for the export of shipments.

2.      Complete process of shipment includes arranging for pick-up or inland transportation, booking, document preparation (bill of lading, invoicing, certificate of origin, export declaration and/or AES, if applicable) forwarding, follow-up with tracking and tracing to final destination and data quality requirement. 

3.      Customer Service responsibilities include maintaining communication with vendor, shipper, customer, carrier and overseas offices throughout the process and choosing proper routing appropriate to the customer's needs.

4.      Negotiate cost-effective rates with service providers to ensure maximum profitability.

5.      Maintain SOP (standard operating procedures) and customer profiles including key contacts, special requirements, contract rates and preferred routings/services/ carriers.

6.      Participate in quotes for overseas offices as requested.

7.      Review information published on Compass Ocean Logistics’ Intranet system daily.

8.      Immediately report problems, operation disputes or discrepancies to supervisor, manager, divisional manager or branch manager. 

9.      Employees may also have additional responsibilities in accordance with supporting a specific department(s)/division(s) and/or be tasked with specific, individualized assignments.

Qualifications & Educational Requirements

·         Bachelor Degree in Business Management or equivalent

·         Experience of more than 1 year in shipping, transport and logistics.

·         Familiarity to work with computer; Microsoft Office and Windows.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Prospect and cold call in designated sales territories for developing new customers.
    Communicate with potential clients with various methods including, face to face meetings, phone, email and cold calls.
  • Manage, renew and up-sell existing clients.
  • Prepare client presentations, contract negotiations and provide follow through.
  • Attend individual and joint sales visits in coordination with overseas partners for aiding business development if applicable.
  • Offer sales support for sales offices in remote locations.
  • Actively participate in company promotional events, as well as outside company sales gatherings such as networking events and client promotions.
  • Assist with sales campaigns and events in conjunction with local and overseas partners.Collaborate with sales team to develop expertise and new customers.
  • Plan and manage personal business portfolio/territory according to agreed market strategy.
  • Comply with all regulations prescribed by USA Customs/IATA/TSA/FMC and other governing bodies.

The ideal candidate would have:

  • Familiar with all freight forwarding procedures & regulations
  • 3-5 years of industry related experience required
  • Demonstrated Customer Services skills

Chapman Freeborn Group would like to announce exciting opportunities available within their Passenger Charter division and are recruiting for two Passenger (Commercial) Charter Broker positions at our Florida office.  

Purpose of the role

  • To manage all aspects of a flight from initial request to searching the market, putting offers together, negotiating in the buying and selling process, then following up with client and completing the booking and flight set-up. 
  • To maximize business opportunities by offering tailored solutions to meet client requirements within budgetary and operational restrictions whilst making suitable profit for the company. 
  • Searching for new business within the Passenger market.

Key Responsibilities:

Flight quoting

  • Communicate effectively with aircraft providers for offers. 
  • Ensure timely offer with detailed and accurate information is provided for clients. 
  • Follow up regularly and work towards confirmation.   

   Flight booking

  • Ensure all contracts, insurance, and regulatory matters are accurate, legally compliant, and that CF company requirements are met. 
  • Verify supplier contract in detail and ensure all terms comply with CF charter agreement.

   Client relationship management

  • Liaise with clients to identify requirements and source suitable, competitive aircraft charter solutions.
  • Maintain and develop relationships with both key clients and new business leads to maximize business opportunities and increase client loyalty in an industry where client retention is never guaranteed.
  • Manage all operational aspects of charters from the first inquiry to completion of the trip.

   Business development

  • Use initiative to identify new potential areas for business development.
  • Develop new business through initiative, follow up on new leads, client recommendations, and pro-active networking. 

   The ideal candidate will have:

  • Minimum of two years experience within a similar role.
  • Previous experience within the aviation industry is essential for the role.
  • Tourism or Aviation related degree would be desirable.
